The EIGHTH race of the Tuesday evening series! AUGUST 31, 2021

We will have some fun beating through Indian Point this evening!

Please check-in with the Committee on VHF Channel 72 or as you go by the wharf before the race. Please keep clear of boat traffic. and moored boats.

Some of you have asked about RULE 29 RECALLS  and what a boat has to do if they are called ‘over early’ on the start. This is what we have in the Sailing Instructions.

29.1 Individual Recall
When at a boat’s starting signal any part of her hull is on the course side of the starting line or she must comply with rule 30.1, the race committee shall promptly display flag X with one sound. The flag shall be displayed until the hull of each such boat has been completely on the pre-start side of the starting line or one of its extensions but no later than four minutes after the starting signal.

SMALL BOATS CLASS B

Small Boat Course Class B Blue Flag

Pre-warning signal at 1754, start at 1800

Start  with Mailman and Kelley Wharf to Starboard and High Flyer with Orange flag to Port

Andrews Island to Port

Andrews Shoal Buoy to Port

Andrews Island to Port

Finish with Mailman and Kelley Wharf on Port High Flyer with orange flag to Starboard

BIGGER BOATS CLASS A

Class A Course Red Flag

Start at 1806 (the Pre-warning signal 6 minutes before the start is the same time as the start of the small boats)

Start with Mailman and Kelley Wharf to Starboard and High Flyer with Orange flag to Port

Andrews Island to Port

Sturm Island to Port

Andrews Shoal Buoy to Port

Andrews Island to Port

Finish with Mailman and Kelley Wharf on Port High Flyer with orange flag to Starboard

 

Please note:

(10) TIME LIMIT

10.1 If no boats in Class B or Class A (or any other class) have finished before 2015hrs then that class race is abandoned.

10.2 Boats failing to finish within 30 minutes after the first boat in its class sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish without a hearing. This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5.
